"Song About a Rock" Lyrics
"Old Feelings" Lyrics
"Think About Me" Lyrics

This EP is mostly for the titular song, but I had a couple more in the vault that fit sonically, even though they didn't quite fit thematically. Song About a Rock came about as I was climbing Mt. Ulap with some friends. It was the first time that I had climbed a mountain that high and I was overwhelmed with this feeling of connection with everything around me. I could feel the age of the mountain and it made me wonder what things it must've seen. That thought led to this song.

Old Feelings / Think About Me are a couple ones I've been sitting on for a while. They're not necessarily directed at someone specific, they're more just explorations of the ideas of longing, uncertainty, and the way affection can live in that in-between space where it's like hey I know there's something but can we just say it? I think we all carry different kinds of "old feelings" for people, or maybe even for the idea of someone, but sometimes those emotions linger longer than we want. These songs were a way for me to process the way that desire, hesitation, and hope can all exist in the same breath.

I didn't realize how creepy they'd end up when I was writing, honestly, but I think that's part of it. When you're caught in your head, overanalyzing every little moment or silence, it can start to feel obsessive, even if it's coming from a place of love or insecurity. So yeah, maybe it's creepy looking back but at least I understand it now.
